About Akiu Winery

Akiu Winery opened in December 2015 in Akiu Onsenkyo, one of the Tohoku region's leading tourist destinations, located in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. Akiu Winery was established in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and aims to utilize the power of the wine industry to connect and nurture people, food, culture, and industry. It works on grape cultivation, wine brewing, cultivating winemakers, and promoting the region on a daily basis. The winery's concept is "The ultimate marriage is in the place of origin," and it regularly hosts markets, BBQs, and maker's dinners inviting producers so that you can enjoy the marriage of seasonal ingredients and wine throughout the year.
