This dish is made with 100% farmed sea squirts from the Sanriku coast, one of Japan's leading sea squirt producing areas. Its distinctive shape has earned it the nickname "sea pineapple." The thick flesh is carefully dried, seared to bring out its aroma, and then paired with cheese.
