"Terroir Shimane" Event Held - A Casual Evening to Enjoy Japanese Wine

Akiho Winery will be participating in "Terroir Shimane," which will be held in Shimane Prefecture.
On that day, we visited "Shimane Winery" and "Okuizumo Vineyard".
Then, "Akiho Winery" from Tohoku/Sendai gathered together.
Enjoy each wine and its story, paired with French cuisine from Restaurant & Cafe Melimelo.
This collaboration between Okuizumo Vineyard and Shimane Winery is actually a first.
To provide our customers with more opportunities to enjoy Japanese wine in their daily lives,
It is planned to be held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Before the pandemic, the main route was the Sendai-Izumo route (FDA).
We envisioned a wine tourism initiative connecting regional cities,
We've also had discussions with Okuizumo Vineyard, Akiu Winery, and an airline company.

The connection between "Terroir Shimane" and "Terroir Tohoku" is a step towards a future that will boost tourism between regional cities and revive air routes between Sendai and Izumo.

What is terroir?
The name "Terroir," which is also the name of the restaurant at Akiho Winery, is a coined word combining "terroir," which is French for climate, soil, and human activities, and "mariage," which refers to marriage or the pairing of food and wine. It was proposed by Akiho Winery's representative, Chikafusa Mori, and since 2019, they have been conducting tours and experiential programs together with producers, restaurants, sake breweries, and tourism-related parties.
